1. The Sox are in the lead for the Wild Card and their biggest threat are the Texas Rangers.
2. Tim Wakefield will be making a rehab start in Pawtucket Saturday
3. Dice K will is aiming at a September 3rd rehab start in Pawtucket
4. When the roster expands on September 1st (from 25 players to 40) the Sox will have no problem keeping Wakefield, Dice K, Tazawa, Buchholz and Penny on the active roster all at the same time. No more juggling the roster and phantom injuries.
5. Also when the roster expands on September 1st, the Sox will be able to bring up the likes of Josh Reddick, Paul Byrd, Chris Woodward and maybe even Michael Bowden and Lars Anderson. The Red Sox depth is an asset that the Rangers and Rays just don’t have.
