Sadly, his defining moment as a Red Sox may have come earlier this season when Jacoby Ellsbury stole home and Drew stood emotionless in the batters box.
Actually, I remember the 2007 ALCS when JD Drew hit a grand slam in Game 6 with the Red Sox facing elimination. As he rounded the bases, he had the look of a man who was sitting in the waiting room waiting for his oil change to be over.
I will admit that he is a clutch performer. He has great post season numbers and comes up big in big games. But the man has an unbelievable poker face—one that could probably win him tournaments—but makes it hard to root for him as a ball player.
That felt good. Nothing puts me into a good mood like ripping JD Drew. ahh
