Red Sox Prospect Seth Schwindenhammer Would Have Longest Last Name In MLB History





If Seth Schwindenhammer ever makes it to the major leagues, he would hold the record for the longest last name in Major League Baseball history.

Schwindenhammer was a fifth round pick (# 168 overall) of the Red Sox in the 2009 MLB First-Year Player Draft.

Jarrod Saltalamacchia currently holds the record for longest name in MLB history with a last name having 14 letters. Saltalamacchia is followed by Jason Isringhausen at 12 letters.

The Red Sox record holders for longest name are Carl Yastrzemski and Nomar Garciaparra. Each with 11 letters.
