Sporting News Declares Peyton Manning NFL Athlete Of Decade Despite Brady Winning The Fan Voting

Despite the SportingNews.com fan voting which showed Brady 60% Manning 40%, the executives over at Sporting News have declared Peyton Manning the NFL Athlete Of The Decade.

Maybe they figure that declaring Peyton Manning as the NFL Athlete Of Decade the Sporting News Magazine will sell more copies or something.

Peyton Manning is more marketable than Tom Brady. God knows he makes more commercials.

How can a man who won 3 Superbowls, a league MVP, and 21 straight games (along with a laundry list of other accolades that I wont bore you with) NOT be named NFL Athlete Of Decade

If you're going to argue that their "numbers are comparable" then the tie breaker should have been the Patriots 16 – 0 undefeated regular season and 21 consecutive wins earlier in the decade.

FYI, the Dolphins only won 14 games in 1972 because the season was shorter. The Patriots won 16 in 2007, making it a more accomplished season.
