If you thought the Phil Kessel deal was the Bruins’ new way of doing business then you are wrong. It was the exception, not the norm.
The Bruins did the right thing yesterday and signed Milan Lucic to a 3-year deal worth $12.3 million.
Kudos to Peter Chiarelli. The last thing Bruins fans wanted to see next summer was a Milan Lucic debacle similar to the Phil Kessel drama we all witness this past summer.
Milan Lucic is unbelievable popular in Boston and was poised to be a free agent at the end of this season. If the Bruins did to Milan Lucic what they did to Phil Kessel, there would have been a mutiny at the Garden.
