Marc Savard was on the Dale & Holley Show on WEEI yesterday and said that Phil Kessel told him to “wait and not sign” with the Bruins.
As you know, Marc Savard chose NOT to become a free agent at the end of the year and signed a 7 year deal with the Bruins at a hometown discount.
Had he become a free agent at the end of the season, he would have been one of the most sought after players on the market and made A LOT of money.
But Savard took the hometown discount because as he said, “this is where I want to play. I'm happy with what I got. I'm proud to be a Boston Bruin. I’ve watched this town grow back into a hockey town and hopefully our goal as a team and staff comes true, that we can bring a (Stanley) Cup here to Boston.”
Kessel on the other hand chased the money.
He doesnt care about the city of Boston, the Bruins organization, the Bruins fans or winning.
All he wanted was the money...even if that meant playing for a team with no shot at competing for the Stanley Cup anytime soon.
Savard will be a Bruin for a long time. Kessel will be a Maple Leaf for a long time.
Savard is a classy and very likeable guy. Kessel is a wicked asshole.
Looks like we have a rivalry boys. KESSEL-MANIA 1 this Saturday night!!!!

Shut up Kessel not everyone is greedy like you. You deserve to be with the Leafs. Good luck in the playoffs, if you ever make it. Should you ever see a playoff series, I look forward to seeing your typical mediocre play.

I'll give him that. Toronto, on the other hand, has been the greatest hockey town in the world for about the last century.
I had no idea a point a game in the playoffs is "mediocre". Can't wait to see what his "exceptional" playoff points looks like.
The greatest thing is he's only played 15 games and is leading all Bruins in goals scored.

Have you ever been to a marlies game? I bet not. Not to worry, no one in the whole city goes to see them, but toronto is a hockey town.
The assholes in that shit hole toronto don't give a fuck about hockey, only care about the prestige of going to the ACC. That's why its the quietest rink the the fucking league, and that's why the platinums are empty for most of the game. NO stanely cup parade in toronto this year, but look at the bright side kid, you'll always have the PRIDE parade. LOL!
Anonymous, the reason why the ACC is so quiet is because f*cking MLSE makes the tickets too expensive for a real fan to go to. And I would be careful about what city you call a shithole, Boston is pretty ghetto in most parts.
