According to Gordon Edes of ESPNBoston, the Red Sox are in discussions with Adrian Beltres agent, Scott Boras.
But the discussions have been “complicated by the voiding of the Mike Lowell trade to Texas.” Whatever that means.
Beltre is considered one of the best defensive third basemen in the majors, but last season he only hit .265 with 8 home runs and 44 RBI.
Its gonna be a LOOOOONG season for Red Sox fans.
Remember the way you felt last season whenever Jason Varitek got to the plate? Well, get used to that feeling.
"Run prevention" wont help the Sox when they're are down by 3 late in the game and Mike Cameron or Adrian Beltre get to the plate.
By the way, had you ever heard the term “run prevention” before this off season? Seems as though Theo is trying to sugar coat the fact that he has signed a boat load of mediocre talent this off season.
