Joe Maddon Thinks The "Baseball Gods" Want Rays To Overtake Red Sox

When the broken bat in the third inning of last nights game was rolling directly towards Marco Scutaro, causing him to miss the lazy grounder (and leading to a Rays rally), I think most Red Sox fans were thinking “we’re shit out of luck tonight.”

Joe Maddon thinks it was a sign from Baseball Gods. After the game, Maddon was asked about the broken bat single and said:

“The baseball heavens, the baseball gods, they’ve got to throw you a sign every once in a while and they’ve got to further the belief. Believe me, when I saw that I thought, ‘Hey let’s see what’s going to happen the rest of the game.’”

I hope I dont come across as an arrogant Red Sox fan, but if there really are Baseball Gods do you really think they would want the Rays to win anything? They play in a domed stadium with field turf and cat walks. If anything, the Baseball Gods are pissed at them for playing in what amounts to a high school gymnasium. Im just sayin.
