Sure, Mike Aviles was the hero of the game with a two out, rbi single in the ninth to break the 1-1 tie and win the game for the Red Sox but you must admit, Clay Buchholz was pretty damn good.
The dude pitched seven innings and only allowed one run, making the rest of the starting pitchers look like a bunch of assholes. Alfredo Aceves came in and only needed eight pitches to get the save. Yea, my jaw hit the ground too.
The optimist in me looks at the standings and sees that the Red Sox are only 4 games back in the Wild Card and thinks that they are just one hot streak from getting right back into the hunt. The Debbie Downer in me knows that so long as Jon Lester and Josh Beckett are on this team, the Red Sox are guaranteed to lose 2 of every 5 games with the other 3 being crap shoots.
Anyway, the Red Sox have now stopped their four game losing streak. And thats pretty cool...I guess.
