Im glad I didnt stay up late for this one. I was in bed by 11:30 last night. I learned my lesson after Monday nights shit show.
Anyway, so let me explain what happened for those who didnt stay up to watch: Aceves sucked. He absolutely sucked. He came in for the ninth with the score 2-1 and gave up three hits and two runs.
So Aceves is now 0-6 on the season with 4 blown saves. Bobby Valentine was right. The Red Sox should have made Bard the closer at the beginning of the season when Bailey went down with the thumb injury. The fact that they didnt is absolute horseshit.
And if Bard isnt made the closer when he comes back from his minor league stint, Red Sox should go apeshit like the final scene of Rise of the Planet of the Apes.
On a side note, Jon Lester looked pretty good, giving up only one run over 6 and 2/3 innings. But it will go down as a no decision for him. That sucks.
