REPORT: Ray Allen Demanded 3 Years $27M From Celtics. Didnt Get It. Then Signed With Heat For 3 Years $9.7M. What A Dick.

The more I hear about why Ray Allen left Boston, the more he comes across as a dick. First reports were that he left because he felt "disrespected" by Danny Ainge for using him as trade bait and by Doc Rivers for taking away his starting job.  Today we learn that Ray Allen may have taken less money to play in Miami just to spite Danny Ainge.

A second source yesterday confirmed a Herald report that Allen demanded a contract from the Celtics that tripled what he accepted from Miami — $27 million over three years.

Did Ray Allen really sign with the Heat just to bust Danny Ainges balls? Ray Allen is supposed to be a class act. He is supposed to be one of the nice guys in the NBA and an easy guy to root for.  Yet in the end, he may have taken less money from the Heat to spite the Celtics front office. That is a dick move.

I guess its kinda fitting that he went to the Miami Heat.  That organization and that town tend to accept and embrace douchebaggery.  Thanks for your years of service Ray.  Now enjoy spending the last few years of your career being just another asshole in South Beach.
