Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced today, September 11, that the club has signed forward Tyler Seguin to a six-year contract extension through the 2018-19 season. Seguin’s contract is worth an average of $5.75 million annually over the six years of his deal
Peter Chiarelli is a genius. The dude doesnt sit on his ass and wait for contract chatter to become a distraction on the ice. He doesnt wait for players to hold out (like Harry Sinden did almost yearly). He gets shit done so this team can move forward.
Just last week, Chiarelli signed Brad Marchand to a 4 year, $18M contract extention. That news was kinda under the radar because of all the buzz surrounding the Patriots season opener. Poor bastid.
Now we have to cross our fingers and hope the NHLPA can pull a rabbit out of their ass and work something out with those asshole owners so we can start the season on time. But I digress...
