Ok, I have the balls to say it. The Patriots defense is friggin nasty.
And thats not just me being a homer. I have the facts to back it up. They stopped the Titans twice in the red zone. They held Titans running back Chris Johnson to 4 yards. Jake Locker was sacked twice and had two forced turnovers. Chandler Jones had a strip sack and Dont'a Hightower returned the ensuing fumble for a touchdown.
Sure it was just one game and sure the defense is young and sure some naysayers will say they are still unproven. But shit, theyve earned the right to have some swagger. I mean, they had a friggin great (not good) game. Oh yea, on top of all that, Jake Locker got fucked up pretty good.
Im not celebrating a mans injury. But it is what it is. Ill leave it at that.
Father forgive me, for I am about to sin, but this has to be said: I saw flashes of the Tedy Bruschi, Richard Seymour, Rodney Harrison and Willie McGinest defense of old. Call me a homer, call me a Masshole, call me whatever you want. But mark my words, these dudes are going to do something special this season.
