It Wasnt A Bitch Slapping, But I'll Take It
In the first half of the game, the Patriots offense was unreal. Ill admit it, I had a massive pants tent. They went with the no huddle and basically marched down the field at will. It was unlike any Patriots offense I had ever seen in my life.
They had a well balanced attack and the no huddle was incredibly effective. Everyone in New England should be washing Josh McDaniels' balls right now. He isnt getting enough credit for whats going on.
This is probably the most dynamic offense we've seen the Patriots have...ever. They had 251 total yard rushing and 193 passing, including a career high of 151 from Stevan Ridley. If the secondary didnt suck so badly and if the fake officials didnt give the Cardinals and Ravens those games, the Patriots would be 5-0 right now.
And Danny Woodhead should especially be washing McDaniels' balls. They used him on two huge third down plays. One with the Patriots at their own goal line when it was 3rd and 14 (he gained 25 yards on the play) then on the first play of the second half on 3rd and 17 (he gained 19 yards). All of a sudden the dude is relevant again.
Peyton Manning didnt have too bad of a game statistically (345 yards, 3 touchdowns, 0 interceptions) but just like in the old days, he had the numbers and his team took the loss. And the only reason he had the numbers he did is because Kyle Arrington and Devin McCourty absolutely suck.
McCourty is basically the Joe Corvo of the NFL. The dude is a liability and at some point he will cost the Patriots a game. There are times when he literally doesnt even look at the ball. He's probably number one on my current shit list (just below Jenny Dell and Alfredo Aceves). But I digress.
So we didnt see the bitch slapping that I was hoping for, but the Patriots did win their second straight game and are now alone atop the AFC East, pending the outcome of the Jets Texans game tomorrow night. So yea, after Monday night, the Patriots will be alone atop the AFC East. It feels good.
