According to DeadSpin.com, the NHL hired global market research company, Luntz Global, to conduct focus groups and try and make Gary Bettman and the NHL owners look less asshole-ish after the lockout ends.
From DeadSpin:
As the lockout claimed its first games last week, the NHL hurriedly turned to the experts on shaping public debate: Luntz Global, the multinational market research firm. After being asked to rate how sympathetic they were to owners vs. players, the participants were given a packet to complete.Heres a sample of the questions the firm asked the focus group (via DeadSpin):
The scary thing is, this Frank Luntz dude is really good at mind fucking people. Again, according to DeadSpin:
He's played a key role in framing the GOP's message over the years. When global warming was recast as "climate change," that was Frank Luntz. When the estate tax became a "death tax," that was Frank Luntz. When the Affordable Health Care for America Act was held up as "a government takeover," that was Frank Luntz, too. This guy is a world class brain washer. But how can to feel sympathy for a commissioner who basically told the fans to fuck off and owners who are so friggin greedy that they are going to squeeze all 82 games into the shortened season so they can get their ticket and concession money? That is the epitome of arrogance and greed.
This dude Luntz has come up with the phrase "shared sacrifice." That is the phrase they plan on using to mind fucking us into thinking we all sacrificed--the owners, players and fans.
Anyone with half a brain knows that the only people who got brooms sticks shoved up their asses during this process were the fans and players. If this prick, Frank Luntz, can make people think that these owners sacrificed anything, then he should be locked up and his brainwashing methods criminalized.
Going forward, Gary Bettman deserves to get booed like the asshole he is anytime he takes the podium inside any arena. And Jeremy Jacobs? Well, Jeremy Jacobs deserves to burns in hell.
