Ray Allen Spilled His Guts To Miami Media About Rondo, Ainge And Rivers Rift....Because Thats What Assholes Do.

From the Miami Herald:
Allen sat down for three separate one-on-one interviews — with The Miami Herald, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel and the Palm Beach Post — on Thursday to clear the air well before the season opener.

He said the friction with Rondo began in 2009 when Rivers and Celtics president Danny Ainge proposed a trade that would have sent Allen and Rondo to Phoenix for Amare Stoudemire, Leandro Barbosa and the 14th overall pick in the 2010 draft.

Allen said that, at the time, Ainge and Rivers “didn’t get along” with Rondo.  “So, I called him and I told him, ‘hey they’re supposedly trading us to Phoenix because you and Danny and Doc don’t get along,’ ”

“So, for some reason, I guess he thought that I was … that I had something against him, or there were some issues. And I had no issues with him. I won with him.”  Now, Allen says if Rondo “had issue with me, that’s on him.”
Is this how a "classy" guy acts?  Seems to me he's coming across as kind of a dick.  I mean, any drama among teammates and management is none of his business.  The dude shouldnt be spilling his guts about it.

If he is concerned that his legacy in Boston is being tarnished, he isnt doing himself any favors by airing out the dirty laundry.  Believe me, I really want to like Ray Allen.  I really do.  The guy came across as a class act and a team player when here.  He bought into the Ubunto and put his ego aside to win a championship here.

But now his ego is rearing its ugly head and its really hard for me not to be pissed off right now.  And there's more.  Also from the Miami Herald:
In the end, Allen didn’t feel appreciated in Boston. In his final two seasons there, he was made to feel old.  “In Boston, they were telling me they were going to bring me off the bench — ‘We’re going to play you less minutes’ — and all I asked was, ‘How are you going to use me because the last two years you’ve been using me as decoys,’ ” Allen said. “ ‘You’re running all these plays for me just to pass it to somewhere else and you’re not putting me into any scoring opportunities and I’m just standing over in the corner the majority of games.’ ”
What kind of prick complains about getting paid millions to come off the bench?  Especially considering what he has accomplished in his career.  It eventually happens to every great player in the NBA.

The dude is an aging veteran.  Thats a fact.  He should have accepted that and understood his role.  But in the end, it was all about the fact that Ray Allen wasnt getting the ball.  Wow.

In Boston, its about winning championships.  Its not about stroking your own ego so you can see your name in the paper the next day.  Knowing what I know now, Im glad he left.  Talk to me in about five years and Ill let you know if Ive forgiven him or not.  For now, Ray Allen is firmly planted on my shit list.
