So Tonight Will Be Bobby Valentine's Last Game As Manager Of The Red Sox. Thank Gawd.
I know it wont happen. I know the Red Sox wont fire Bobby Valentine before (or during) tonights game. It would be cool if they did, though. It would be a nice way to give him a giant middle finger as he's kicked out the door.
Glenn Ordway was right. He checked out emotionally a long time ago. What better way to stick this season up his ass than firing him during the game.
On a serious note, the Red Sox should have fired him when they made the Beckett/Gonzalez/Crawford trade. They should have considered that the turning point in the season and made a bold run at a World Series then. Trading those three players and firing the manager would have really rattled that clubhouse and woke up some of those stiffs.
But they didnt. They tucked their tails between their legs and hung this poor bastid out to dry.
In the end, history will show that this team lost more than 90 games. Knowing that this pathetic record will go on Bobby Valentines resume will be the only satisfaction we will get. I guess that will have to do.
