The NHLPA presented three counter proposals today to the owners today. All three were rejected.
After reportedly meeting for one hour, Bettman left the meeting and said, "We were done in an hour because there is really nothing there." What a dick thing to say.
He also said, "we're not speaking the same language," and that today was, "a step backward."
The players were reportedly willing to go with the 50/50 split that the owners had asked for as long as the owners honored the players current contracts. That was turned down. I really dont get it. That seemed like a very fair counter offer.
Thats what you do in negotiations. But these dont seem like negotiations. The owners are acting like the friggin Mafia trying to bully the players into giving them money they arent owed.
Fuck them.
