How friggin desperate are the Patriots for help in their secondary? Jesus Christ. They traded for a dude who is batshit crazy. As you probably know by now, the Patriots traded a 2013 4th round draft pick to the Buccaneers for cornerback Aqib Talib and a 2013 7th draft pick.
The dude is currently serving a four game suspension for failing a drug test and wont be available until week 11 agains the Colts. He got into a fight with a teammate at the the NFL rookie symposium in 2008. In 2009 he was arrested for allegedly beating up a taxi driver. A warrant was issued for his arrest in 2011 for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after he allegedly tried to shoot his sisters boyfriend.
And the Patriots traded for him anyway! Thats how bad the Patriots secondary is. That is friggin hilarious.
That being said, I love this friggin trade. The guy is a legit cornerback. He has 18 career interceptions, 3 touchdowns and has broken up 53 passes.
I dont care about the off the field bullshit. Because of the Patriots atrocious secondary, I go into fits of rage if the Patriots arent up by at least 20 points going into the fourth quarter. I wouldnt give a shit if they traded for someone with Charles Manson's rap sheet. This dude will help the secondary, so Im ok with it.
You know whats hilarious? The local sports talk shows are going to go nuts over this trade. Bill Belichick knew that and he made the trade anyway. I have always admired Bill Belichicks balls. Today I can say I am in love with them.
