FINAL: Red Sox 7 Indians 2

Sure, winning by 5 runs isn’t exactly an “ass kicking,” but it also wasn’t a close game by any stretch of the imagination. At one point, the Red Sox were up 7-0 for Christ’s sake.

And it wasn’t a pretty game. The Red Sox struck out 16 times. You read that right. 16 times. Daniel Nava went 0 for 4 with four strikeouts and Will Middlebrooks went 0-4 with three strikeouts.

But on to the positive. Mike Napoli is on friggin fire right now. After getting the game-winning hit on Patriots Day, he went 2 for 5 with two doubles and three rbi.

And it just felt good to get a win after the bullshit we’ve been dealing with over the past two days.

The Red Sox have now won 4 games in a row and are 9-4 on the season, good for first place in the AL East. Remember, last year they were 4-9 after 13 games and the shit show was in full swing.

Lost in the events of the past few days is the fact that this was Terry Francona’s first game managing against the Red Sox. Oh well.
