FINAL: Bruins 3 Rangers 2

Henrik Lundqvist is supposedly an elite goalie. He won the Vezina last season and had back to back shutouts coming into this game. And he gave up a goal to a rookie defenseman, Torey Krug, and another to Zdeno Chara that a friggin peewee goalie would have stopped.

Im not taking anything away from Krug or Chara, but Im starting to think all this hype around Lundqvist is just a bunch of bullshit.  If it werent for a couple of posts and crossbars in regulation, this game wouldnt even have gone to overtime. And if my aunt had a dick she'd be my uncle....but you get my point.

Anyway, Zdeno Chara was a friggin beast in this game. He had 38:02 of ice time and a team high nine shots. David Krejci got the assist on Chara's goal and now leads the NHL in playoff scoring with 14 points in 8 games. And it seems Brad Marchand has finally decided to show up...and that is a scary thought.

In overtime, the Bruins absolutely dominated, outshooting the Rangers 16-5 and controlling the play.

So, the Bruins did what they were supposed to do and won Game 1. And we learned that Henrik Lundqvist isnt going to be the difference maker in this series like everyone was hyping him up to be. I dont have the balls to call for a Bruins sweep, but I feel pretty damn good about this series after one game.
