FINAL: Red Sox 4 Padres 1
John Lackey was friggin awesome last night. He allowed only one run in eight innings and struck out six. He has gone at least seven innings in each of his last four starts and has a 2.17 ERA in that span. The guy has been pissa.
Stephen Drew missed his third consecutive game with menstrual cramps and once again, the Red Sox didnt miss him. Jose Iglesias moved to short stop and went 2 for 3 and Brandon Snyder played third base and went 1 for 3 with a three-run double. The dude now has five RBI in the three games since he's been called up.
Drew can stay out with his menstrual cramps for as long as he needs as far as Im concerned. The guy is back on my shit list and he is going to have to put up MVP numbers in order to come off it. But I digress.
Koji Uehara came in and pitched a perfect ninth inning, getting his fifth save. He is now three saves away from equalling Andrew Bailey's total for the season. I cant tell you have friggin good it feels to have a real closer.
Anyway, the Red Sox have now won two games in a row, six of their last seven and are tied with the Pittsburgh Pirates for the most wins in all of Major League Baseball. Life is friggin good.
