FINAL: Red Sox 8 Mariners 7

This Red Sox team is so friggin resilient. They were down 5-1 at one point in this game and came back to win 8-7 in the 10th inning on a Daniel Nava base hit. This is the Red Sox' 14th win that has been decided in the last at bat of the game and their 18th come from behind win on the season. This team is so goddamn likeable.

They ended up taking 3 of 4 against the Mariners and scored a total of 34 runs in the series. But I do have something to bitch about (of course). Ryan Dempster sucked in this game. He only lasted 3.1 innings and allowed four runs. But it didnt matter. Steven Wright came in and pitched 5.2 innings of shutout ball and the Red Sox won, so Im fine.

Koji Uehara came in and pitched a clean 9th inning. I dont even give a shit that he didnt make it onto the All-Star team this year. We massholes know how good he is and that is all that matters. Fuck the rest of the baseball world.

The Red Sox now have a 3.5 game lead in the AL East with 3 games to play until the All-Star game.  That means they are guaranteed to be in first place at the All-Star break. That is wicked pissa.  Seriously, who would have thunk that after last season's shit show? This just goes to show you how badly Bobby Valentine sucks as a manager and how toxic Josh Beckett really was.

Its not April anymore, its not May anymore and its not June anymore.  So its ok to say it now:  the Red Sox are for real and they are a friggin good team.
