FINAL: Red Sox 5 Yankees 1

I dont mean to sound like a cocky bastid, but the Red Sox clinching a playoff spot is inevitable.  As of right now, their magic number is six and they have 12 games left to play...and they are playing their balls off.  They are 10-3 in September.  Its okay to be a little cocky right now.  These arent Bobby Valentines Red Sox.  These guys actually give a shit. It will be okay.

And what's awesome is that as the Red Sox creep towards clinching the AL East, they are also shitting all over the Yankees' chances of making the playoffs. Theyve taken the first two games of this series and the Yankees are now 3 games behind the Tampon Bay Rays for the second Wild Card spot.

This might seem petty in the grand scheme of things, but I would love to see those bitches from the Bronx not even make the playoffs this year.  It would give me a sick kind of pleasure.

Anyway, about the game.  Jon Lester went eight innings and allowed just three hits, one run, struck out five and only walked two.  He was friggin nasty.  That fat load CC Sabathia went only six innings and allowed five runs in what was supposed to be a "pitchers duel."  Bullshit.

Going into the All-Star break this year, Jon Lester had a 4.50 ERA.  In the 11 games he's pitched since the All-Star break, his ERA is 2.38.  The guy has been a different pitcher.  I dont know what he has changed and I really dont give a shit.

The bottom line is, the Red Sox starting pitching has been great down the stretch and today they are one day closer to clinching the AL East than they were yesterday.  And that is wicked pissa.
