Kevin Love did a telephone interview with USA Today's The Big Lead and the article starts off with this disclaimer, "the friendly public relations folks gave us a few minutes on the phone with Love. They had one stipulation: No questions about the Boston Celtics.'" Okay.
During the interview, he was asked about trade rumors and he responded:
"In a lot of ways it’s laughable, but in other ways I guess it’s humbling for a number of reasons. I can’t go anywhere without someone saying I’m going to their team. A Brewers game? I’m going to the Milwaukee Bucks. If I spend time in South Beach, it’s the Miami Heat. When asked specifically about the Cavaliers, he said:
I don’t think the Cleveland [trade rumors] are outlandish at all. They have a great young foundation."
So, he was allowed to mention other teams by name but not the Celtics? I dont mean to sound like a dick and start rumors, but it makes me think that the Celtics and Timberwolves already have a deal in place or are really, really close and he was told not to tip his hand and admit he wants to go there and give Ainge any leverage.
Im just throwing shit at the wall here. But it does kinda make sense.
